How do I go about becoming a Radiologist?

I am currently taking a human anatomy and physiology class at my high school which is not a required course. I have everything that is required and I’m graduating this spring.
What should be my next plan of action? There are some radiology classes at the Regional Hospital here that I’m going to look into, but I don’t think that I can get all of my training and everything from there. Should I still get those classes or would it be better to go to a school?

A radiologist is a doctor. You don’t take classes at a hospital for that. If you want to be a radiologic technologist, you need to go through an accredited radiography program, either college or hospital-based, which will require prerequisite college classes prior to applying.

  • you need to get your 4 year undergrad, and then to medical school to become a radiologist. You can become a radiological tech at a 2 year university, they get paid well for only a two year education–starting pay about $45,000 upward. You can’t really take radiology classes unless it’s at med/tech school.
