Human Anatomy question?

Name three things that are wrong with the design on humans (ie organs, or processes that break down, cause premature death, or are very inefficient). For each thing you name, identify another animal that has a better design.

  • Endoskeleton — The human skeletal system provides relatively little protection for the internal organs. A limited amount of protection is provided by the rib cage and reasonable protection for the brain in the form of the skull. Insects have an exoskeleton which provides protection from both dessication and organ damage. However, insects’ skeletal systems are non-living and must be shed, in addition, this type of skeleton cannot support large animals. Turtles have an endoskeleton, which is just under the skin. This provides protection and is living which permits body growth.
