What did the creator of PCR need to know in order to develop it?

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) allows researchers to rapidly replicated DNA fragments for identification tests.

What did the creator of PCR need to know in order to be able to develop it?

Choose one. Would it be A?

A. How much DNA would be needed to perform the tests
B. What other scientists had discovered about the structure of DNA
C. The limitations of the currently available tests.

Its not A. The amount of DNA used in PCR does not matter, as long as some DNA is present.

Because PCR is a process that requires knowledge of DNA structure, primers, and the way DNA enzymes work, the answer would most likely by B, what other scientists had discovered about the structure of DNA. Knowing the structure of DNA, and how it works, would be essential to developing PCR
