If you want good anatomy then sadly the only way is to shell out some money. I found this amazing book called Dynamic Anatomy and use it just about every day. Descriptions, geometric breakdowns, and fantastic art. Other than that try a google search for anatomy and you might just find something. I know it sounds bad but have you tried nude photography sites? They give you an amazing shot plus with the different poses you can form your own opinion. Just don’t get excited because that distracts from the art lol
Posemaniacs is very useful, has rotatable male/female, full-body, hand, and head poses and walking cycles, but the models don’t have skin. As far as my uneducated eyes can tell, the anatomy is correct in most of the poses. I use this most often for quick drawing reference. And it’s free.
3D.sk is also great, has live model photos of various body types, skin color, clothes types, genders, and poses. Most of the images aren’t free, but can still be used for quick reference.
The Figure Drawing Training Tool has helped me a lot with anatomy. It’s just a free practice tool that displays random stock images for a set amount of time (up to 10 minutes, but it can be paused). It’s not great if you need a specific pose, obviously, but definitely improves general knowledge of the way the human body moves.
Also, DeviantArt has some amazing stock photos; if you don’t use any of the other resources I’ve listed, use this one. Almost all images are free, and it seems like there’s an endless supply of them.
A mirror is useful as well; even if you don’t have the body type or gender of the character you’ll be drawing, all people are put together pretty much the same way. It’s the fastest and easiest reference, especially for figuring out foreshortening and basic anatomy.
Your local library is sure to have some decent anatomy books, you might try there too.
I’m sure there are great resources in the form of expensive books and internet subscriptions, but these four websites have worked just fine and have all helped me improve so much over the years… also, they’re free!
