What measurements can be taken to diagnose an issue in the respiratory system?
This and one other question I couldn’t find in my notes for human anatomy and physiology. The other question was "name two other (not capillaries) cells found in or around the alveoli and give their functions." I believe that it’s simple squamous epithelial cells and endothelium cells but idk what their functions are.

Pulmonary Function Tests are usually used to diagnose respiratory problems. This includes lung volumes (comprising TLC, FRC, RV and VC), flow rates, diffusing capacity and maximal inspiratory and expiratory pressures.
Bronchoscopy, lung biopsy and thoracentesis are examples are actual tests.
